Yoga Therapy

I will design a program to meet your specific needs, drawing on the knowledge and insights I have developed through training in Western anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics, as well as intensive practice and study in both the yogic and Buddhist traditions.   Elements may include:
  • Safe and accessible physical exercises for relieving pain, strengthening, and correcting underlying imbalances in the body, including modified yoga postures
  • Breath training to overcome anxiety, reduce pain and promote healthy immune and cardiac function
  • Meditation techniques for working with chronic pain, anxiety and depression
  • Relaxation techniques
  • Lifestyle changes, including sleep habits, diet, exercise, and cultivating supportive  relationships.  

Services are available in online video sessions.  I encourage email and phone contact to discuss any areas of concern as we work together. Periodic adjustments will be made to your program to address changes and promote further progress.  
Fees   1 1/2 hour session: $90
            1 hour session: $60
Reduced fees are available if you subscribe for 3 sessions.

Personalized practice for yogis and yoginis
If you already practice yoga, I will help you develop a program that adapts your asana, pranayama and meditation practices to deal with injuries, ongoing physical challenges or spiritual interests.  
Fee      1 1/2 hour class: $85

Meditation 
Instruction in mindfulness-based meditation, including formal sitting and walking practice and practices for cultivating compassion and equanimity.
Fee     30 minute session: $20

Deep Relaxation & Yoga Nidra
Deep relaxation sessions using a variety of techniques and full Yoga Nidra sessions.  Yoga Nidra is an ancient practice that leads you systematically from profound full body relaxation into a meditative state.
Fees  30 minute deep relaxation session ~  individual $25; small group by arrangement
           1 hour Yoga Nidra session ~  individual $55; small group by arrangement

Hatha classes
Small group, mixed-level hatha classes with an emphasis on mindfulness and the integration of breath and asana.  Classes based on Ayurvedic approaches to asana for balancing the doshas are available.

I have been a Yoga practitioner for 15 years and a full-time Yoga teacher for 10 years.  I sought Donna’s advice because I had discomfort in my hips, hypermobility in some areas and lack of mobility in others.  She developed a series of postures for me and suggested changes in how I practice.  

Using her guidelines, my body has come back into balance and the discomfort I was feeling is gone.  I believe without this therapy the imbalance would have increased over time and developed into more serious problems later.  Thank you,  Donna - I'm really grateful for your help !
